How does it work?
New learner drivers can either download the app, or visit the website.
Once chosen, they will need to chose the booking date(s)/time(s) available and make payment for the selected dates. When the transaction has completed, the ADI is sent a push notification a new student has booked with you, your DriveStep balance is updated and the student is encouraged to download the app and login in if they haven't already done so.
With the student now live in your portal and on your app, you can communicate with them through the platform, or simply attend their first lesson. An automated message can be sent detailing anything you would usually share for a first lesson. The student will have some access to your information... your ADI badge number, the car and transmission type, as well as your lesson diary for future bookings.

DriveStep is designed to streamline the first booking process, offer more visibility for independent Instructors and give you and your students a toolbox which improves communications and learning.

Terms & Conditions - No small print here!
It is important to note, this pre-registration process is non-committal. You will be given the opportunity to fully register on the platform at the BETA stage of development. At this point we will send you an email asking you to complete your online profile and to download the app and login.
To qualify for the £50 Amazon voucher you will be required to
- Pre-register with us here, confirming your first name and email address
- Complete your online profile when we give you access
- Invite 15+ existing students on your books
- Use the desktop and/or mobile app - that's why we've created it
Once you have invited your student base to the platform, 4 weeks will pass and we'll send you an email with your £50 Amazon voucher code. This in part, is to share that we know this can only work with your active participation.
An email survey will follow to give us any feedback, both positive and negative. This is a great opportunity to see improvements made with the features unlocked. As part of our ADI community, we will be completely transparent with our plans and new feature updates. Not all functionality may be up and running for the BETA test.
How will I receive my £50 Amazon voucher?
- You won't need to chase us. You do your bit, and we will do ours. We have 400 vouchers to give to the first 400 ADI pre-registrations, providing you see it through. No questions. We will email you with your individual code to use online, but you must adhere to the Terms and Conditions explained on this page. We can't be any fairer.
Is it really free?
- Yes! There is no upfront cost or subscription to the ADI, Driving School or Learner Drivers. This includes marketplace registration, use of the platform, mobile app and all resources such as manoeuvre demos, theory tests, show me tell me and hazard perception. There is a transaction fee, but you will have the opportunity to choose whether to add this to your advertised standard rate, or include it. The new rate will be rounded and advertised on the Marketplace.
Can anyone register?
- As long as you are a qualified ADI with a valid and active ADI badge number, then yes. Prospective learner drivers will also be required to provide proof they have a provisional licence to confirm their booking.
Can I change bookings?
- Yes. New learner drivers will review your availability through the connected calendar in the marketplace and book directly. Once connected, students have the same visibility and functionality through the app or desktop. ADIs can block out usual breaks/off-days/holidays etc, but in the event a student books a space you need to move, this can be easily accommodated suggesting a different date/time or asking that they rebook with the credit on their account.
Where are you based?
- This is a UK product, designed and developed in the UK, for the UK ADI and Learner Driver communities. Our registered office is in London, but our team is very much based in Northampton, Towcester, Milton Keynes and Bedford.
How do I add my reviews?
- Unfortunately we can't add previous reviews or testimonials. There wouldn't be any way of us vetting these or confirming them. However when a student has passed their test, you will be able to send a congratulatory message with a review link. If this is not submitted, automatic reminders from the platform will follow this up. This is a simple process and we will do our very best to get these reviews for you. We know how important they are to your profile and business.
I use a paid app already, can I just register for the Marketplace?
- It won't work this way. Bookings through the platform are reflected in your portal and app. Connected students will also expect to communicate with you through the app. Importing existing students or adding new ones will be very easy, alternatively you can simply register and accept new students through the DriveStep platform and slowly migrate across. This will likely mean you managing two apps for a while. This is of course fine with us but you won't be able to manage DriveStep bookings with a third-party app.
